It was a dark and ominous night at the Ecruteak City theater. The wind howled against the wooden exterior of the Kimono sisters' household. The Kimono Sisters ran the theater and were an illustrious group known for maintaining sacred traditions of the Johto region. Which is what made the current scene so shameful. One of the sisters stalked through the halls, skittishly lifting her kimono to keep it from swishing around and waking up her sisters. The traditional wooden floor creaked with her every step, but it was concealed beneath the thrum of the heavy rains beating against the roof. She breathed shallowly, and scanned the corners as she pushed through the traditional, dim home, guided by nothing more than the paper lanterns and the lightning permeating through the walls. Malcolm forgot his headphones. He hated forgetting his headphones. The bustling noise of the cart of the subway train clogged his ears with its ceaseless noise. It was so loud it gave him a headache. He hated how jam packed the subway was, but it beat using the sidewalk. It was just as packed anyway at least this way involved less walking. He’d normally use his headphones and phone to distract him from the obnoxious atmosphere of the cramped iron tube, but when he checked his pockets as he entered the subway this morning, he discovered them to be empty, having apparently forgotten them at home. He along with everyone else tattered to the left as the train ground to a stop. The automatic announce voice chimed the name of the station. He wasn’t really listening, but Malcolm knew it wasn’t his stop. His stop was still a ways away.
